Austin Walk to End Bladder Cancer May 18, 2024
Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network Walk Registration Link
Friends and Family,
Nowadays, I'm not walking with the agility of those years spent teaching teenagers at St. Andrew's Episcopal or earlier decades playing on the Ruffian soccer team in Dallas. Yet, I thank God, my doctors, family, and friends for being with me on this bladder cancer marathon. As you know, my husband John and I also walk with the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network on its mission. BCAN is the nation's most respected non-profit organization supporting patient education and care as well as funding critical research for a cure. During Bladder Cancer Month, we will walk on Saturday, May 18. We warmly welcome you to register as a participant and make a tax-deductible contribution. Or, I invite you to join us in spirit with an on-line donation.
We’ll gather at 9 a.m. at Austin's revered Pease Park in the Kingsbury
picnic table area. I feel blessed since my 2016 cancer diagnosis at
Urology Austin, Chemotherapy at Texas Oncology, bladder removal surgery
at UT Health-San Antonio, and now repair care by Dr. Aaron
Laviana at UT Health-Austin Dell Medical Center.
Many medical folk will field teams for our Walk.
